As a Chiropractor with an ethos routed in treating the people I see as actual humans, not just a collections of symptoms, I am sure to assess each aspect of my patients lives, so as to keep my patients happy, healthy and well.
I believe that 5 components are needed in for intelligent life to sustain itself in good health;
- a functional nervous system,
- movement,
- rest,
- mental flexibility, and of course
- nutrition!
So since our own well-being affects us and everyone around us, we might as well all have at least a basic understanding of how to achieve it!
My own interest in nutrition was sparked during my time at university, where I began to call out the misinformation that is all too often rammed down the throat of the public, with the goal of generating profit, rather than keeping the people who consume their products nourished and alive.
I endeavoured to learn the fundamentals of what good nutrition really is, and to verbalise it into straight forward terms for my patients to understand, and if they so choose, implement into their life, so as to reduce the chances of lifestyle related diseases like cardiovascular failure, diabetes, osteoporosis, and of course the big C, while still having the freedom to enjoy a diverse daily menu .
After all, there is no love more sincere, than the love of food.
