As discussed in my post on setting up the blog – the pictures are an important part of any food blog.
I have never done ‘real’ photography, just ‘snaps’. So this is a new challenge for me. To help me meet it, I have invested in a new camera – a Canon EOS 100D Digital SLR Camera no less . I now need to learn how to use it.
So this blog is going to be a bit of a ‘photography journey’ for me.
There is a food photography section in the Food Blogger Pro course which I am studying, and there is also a lot of help on the internet, for example Darren Rowse’s Digital Photography School. Plus I attended a days training with Going Digital at Norwich Cathedral recently which was very helpful.
But I will need a lot of practice! The very first photos I took were for the Food Processor post and I have to say that I was quite pleased at how they came out. The next photos were for the Victoria Sponge, which I was less pleased with. But hopefully the only way is up! I’m looking forward to experimenting and getting better.
Other photos
However, not all the photos on this blog will be mine. Wikimedia is a great resource, as is Flickr. For example the picture on this post. Or there is a great picture I used on the A is for Avocado post from Wikimedia. I will be using open source photos for things I can’t photograph myself – such as Avocado trees in the tropics!
So other people’s photos (with permission) will have an honoured place on this site. They will either have an acknowledgement on the post, or clicking the picture will take you to the source (eg with Wikimedia pictures).
I hope you like the photography on the site and that they will enhance your enjoyment of the posts.
